Audubon Elementary School
“A PLACE WHERE EAGLES SOAR” Fingertip FAQs How do I know what days my learner is scheduled to report for face-to-face learning? Teachers and staff will notify you of your learner’s assigned day by no later than Friday, September 18, 2020. If you have not received any information regarding this matter, please contact your child’s teacher or AES at (225)272-2620. What supplies does my child need? Homeroom teachers will contact you to inform you of the essential materials and supplies student will bring with them during face-to-face learning. Since students will not be sharing supplies, a limited number of items will be needed at this time. Your student’s daily supplies should be able to fit into his/her backpack. Students should also have a “sanitation pack” included with their supplies (wipes, hand sanitizer, a mask, Kleenex/tissue). What time is arrival and dismissal? We will begin receiving students into the building promptly at 8:00am daily, starting with our Bus Riders. Dismissal will begin daily at approximately 3:15pm. Will AES have Extended Day? For the safety of all faculty, staff, and students we will not be offering Extended Day Services at this time. We will reassess the situation at the end of the fall semester. Do I supply a mask for my child? The school will provide (2) cloth masks for every student and staff member. Additional masks will have to be provided by the family. Will teachers be wearing a mask while teaching? Students in grades 3 – 5 and ALL faculty and staff are required to wear masks, except during lunch. Students in grades PK – 2 are not required to wear masks but are strongly encouraged to do so. What will Virtual Learning look like during the Hybrid Reopening? Students that are engaged remotely will follow a similar schedule as those attending face-to-face. However, we have developed a schedule that will allow for independent practice to take place offline, so that our virtual learners are not sitting in front of a computer monitor for the entire school day. Will I be able to visit my child’s class on the first days of school? Although we have moved into Phase 3 of reopening, we will not host visitors inside of the building at this time. Students will be received curbside by faculty and staff members and directed to their designated location.
