Technology Corner: The Flipped Classroom

|
Students in grades 1st – 5th, will have a personal Chromebook that they will utilize throughout the school year. Implementing a school-wide 1:1 initiative, putting technology in the hands of our learners today, so they succeed as citizens, workers, and leaders in a digital world.
It is important that parents attend the parent meetings to ensure that all consent forms are signed and you are aware of the responsibility of using the district distributed Chromebooks. The Chromebooks will not leave campus. Because the students in grades 2nd – 5th will have access to Chromebooks we will be implementing the flipped classroom. The flipped classroom is a pedagogical model in which the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures are viewed by students at home before the class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects, or discussions.
